Bwthyn Bach has been owned by the BB Group since 1966 and is a Grade 2 listed building. The current members of the trust have grown up together with holidays playing and enjoying the surroundings as well as spending a great deal of time and love renovating the house. We have tried to do so without losing the spirit of the place that makes it so special.

Sharing Bwthyn Bach with friends has always been a part of our ethos and over the years this has spread to the current use as a hostel.

The house is known locally as Bellevue, from the days when it was the village pub (you can still see some of the features in the house). It is typical of the Welsh border country of timber frame construction and is about 30o years old. A point of interest is the pegged construction of the oak frames, with the clear numerical markings that are chiseled in to the wood, to help the builders assemble the timbers correctly.

We love this old place very much and have grown up coming here and learning, laughing and experiencing this beautiful part of Wales. We have invested ourselves into it and very much hope that you will ‘get’ the place and learn to love it too. The vast majority of the work on the house has been done by members of the Trust ourselves.

Please also bear in mind that BB is a ‘work in progress’ and all income from lettings is used to cover costs, including maintenance and improvements…. it’s not for profit (quite the opposite, in fact!)

We look forward to your stay.
